A new month is just around the corner, which means plenty of new movies to watch on Netflix. Below, we’ll pick our top 7 upcoming movies set to hit Netflix globally and in the US in May 2022.

Netflix Original Movies Coming May 2022
Unfortunately, Netflix Original movies for 2022 continue to be on the soft side, but the good news is that June 2022 is, so far, looking to start turning the tide. That’s not to say there aren’t a few movies you should watch in May, though.
Of course, in all of these cases, these are more our most anticipated movie releases than the best ones.
A perfect match
Coming to Netflix: May 19
Victoria Justice is set to headline this new rom-com for Netflix that kicks off a summer of great rom-coms to come to the service. This film is directed by Stuart McDonald who is best known for his work on Crazy ex-girlfriend and Blackish.
Here’s what you can expect from the new movie:
“To land a major client, a Los Angeles wine company executive (Victoria Justice) travels to an Australian sheep station, where she ends up working as a ranch hand and sparking sparks with a rugged local (Adam Demos ).”
Coming to Netflix: May 6
Omar Sy rose to fame with his breakout role in Lupine released on Netflix last year and will return for his second major role on Netflix where he teams up with Laurent Lafitte in a buddy-cop flick.
The film pits two cops with polar opposites in a case that has them racing across France in search of their suspect.
While the film isn’t meant to cover any new ground (it almost seems painted by numbers), all Omar Sy fans will want to check this one out.
Coming to Netflix: May 11
Documentaries count as movies, right? Well, since we don’t have any more highlights for May, they’ll have to!
This intriguing documentary might have the ability to really grab a lot of attention given its subject matter. Throughout the documentary film, you will slowly be introduced to a doctor who almost broke
Coming to Netflix: May 13
Rebel Wilson debuts on Netflix (unless you’re outside the US, in which case you get access to Isn’t it romantic) in Senior Year, a new comedy that also stars Alicia Silverstone, Angourie Rice, Justin Hartley and Brandon Scott Jones.
Senior Year is about a cheerleader who was involved in an accident that put her into a 20-year coma. Now much older and wide awake, she tries to achieve her ultimate goal of becoming prom queen.
The Best Licensed Movies Are Coming to Netflix in May 2022

Netflix acquired the rights to an extended version of Jackass Forever which hit theaters earlier this year in 2019. Now, after a few years of waiting, we get Jackass Forever in the form of Jackass 4.5.
The new film reunites the Jackass team 11 years after their last entry with Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England and others all returning for some insane stunts and pranks.
For those in the US, you’ll have the entire collection of Jackass movies by the end of May, with previous movies arriving on the first of the month.
Ben is back (2018)
Coming to Netflix: May 20
Already available on Netflix UK, Ben’s Back from Roadside Attractions is coming to Netflix US for the first time next month.
Directed by Peter Hedges, the family drama tells the story of a mother elated when her son returns to their lives, but the reality of his addictions quickly becomes apparent.
He has a 81% on RottenTomatoes with the consensus being that Julia Roberts puts in a sublime performance covering a very sensitive topic.
Coming to Netflix: May, the 1st
Seen as the return to form of Guy Ritchie and his roots, this all-star comedy-drama sees a criminal empire for sale in the UK, but there are many hurdles along the way that keep it from going smoothly. .
Outtake Mag at the time of its release, the film was “all seductive swagger, irreverent banter, and effortless style”.
As you may have heard, Netflix is looking to produce and release a new series based on Gentlemen so there’s no better time to get into the movie than right now.
