What new movies are in theaters and streaming this weekend, April 15?

Unrelated, but happy The Kardashians Premiere Week to all who celebrate! Below, we’re sharing the best new movies to watch in theaters and the movies available on streaming services you won’t want to miss.

Look, studios know this, streaming platforms know this, and everyone knows not to release anything in the same week as a Kardashian show debut. So here we are, with a lightened schedule of movies for the week. If you want to blame someone, blame them (keep Pete Davidson out of it, though). Now that we’ve got that sorted, let’s move on to the movies coming this weekend.

New films to see in theaters and streaming

  • Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets, Theaters
  • Father StuTheaters
  • choose or dienetflix

As you can see, the biggest release of the week is Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets. Harry Potter fans everywhere look forward to eating even more content from this historic franchise. I have to be honest with you all, I only saw two of the Harry Potter movies and maybe one day I’ll change that, BUT, I’m thrilled for all of you who are happy the movie is coming out this weekend.

An interesting release of the week is Father Stu, a film about Father Stuart Long, a boxer-turned-priest who inspired people on his journey from self-destruction to redemption. The film stars Mark Wahlberg as Stu and Mel Gibson as his father, Bill Long. The film is based on a true story. I watched the trailer and it sounds like it could be good, but it also sounds like a story we’ve seen before.

What are you going to watch this weekend? Would you like a film in theaters or streaming? Or will you be too busy watching The Kardashians go to the cinema?
